Today at Gymboree class, baby showed distinct interests in the colorful Gymboree plastic balls. The balls are only slightly bigger than an adult’s fist and have holes around that fit for babys’ fingers to pitch in for 
an easy grib. Be it a free-play time or a group exercise, no matter the ball was left unattended on the floor mat or was held by somebody, so long as it caught her eyes, she would go snatch it.
Daddy, the “big spender”, of course has no hesitation in buying a set of the balls for her — 3 balls cost HK$80, really expensive to me.Â
But what pays is, back at home, we reiterated the word “ball” whenever she or we held one, in less than half an hour, baby has learned to link up the word and the ball and started babbling “baw baw baw….”
